International Erich Bergel Conducting Competition

42 conductors competed in the 2nd International Erich Bergel Competition
The second edition of the "Erich Bergel" International Conducting Competition took place in Târgu Mureș at the great concert hall of the Palatul Culturii from April 8-12, 2024. The competition has been organized by Associazione Artes, Kult Mind Association, and the State Philharmonic Orchestra of Târgu Mureș. Out of 246 initial applicants from 38 countries, 42 conductors competed.
The jury comprised conductors and musicians from various countries:

• Jehi Bahk (Austria), conductor and former concertmaster, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra

• Roby Lakatos (Hungary), violinist
• György Lendvai (Hungary), MÁV Budapest Symphony Orchestra, general director
• Juan Jose Navarro (Spain), Almeria University Orchestra, conductor
